Session Four - 08/09/09

Day 10 Council summons the Pack. Civette congrats us on our success and have decided to make us their shield & sword. The Council decides to send us to look for resources to build our new home on Midpoint island. We are to be sent to the island, cross over and do a detailed exploration of the end of the bridge, then continue to a place known as IKEA. We are to gather all we can & bring it back to the People. The Council wants us to take as long as we wish / need. Appear that this is a make-work mission though we should endeavor to "exceed" their wishes. We will leave in the morning. Lucan asks if we will get a proper reception upon our return, Civette says that those in the service of the Council will get their due. [Note she said Council]. Sadian says goodbye to his females, one is dismissive & one is shy.

Day 11 The morning dawns & we are taken to the shore via sail to the end of the span [Oakland]. We head up to the freeway [elevated] littered with destroyed mobile dens. Our journey is soon interrupted by a sounder of pigs [4 dire pigs & 2 death boars] upon the round way. Kohana delays the attacking Death Boars to give us time to meet their charge. The Dire Boars charge in, though their attacks do only small amount. The Death Boars proves much more dangerous, including a gore & knockdown to Shinte. Another test of our courage & ability plus the Wise Owl wishes for me to have more stories to tell our People. Maya & Inyan shows much skill in keeping their attention, though we take some minor wounds. The Jackel shows a great deal of bravo during the combat, keeping the two Death Boars attention on himself. Once again our rogue seems to attract attacks and is requires much attention during the combat.

(Off the boar, I grab a couple of the tusks for decorations & bristles for brushes)

After a rest, we continue to explore the foot of the bridge at dusk. Some indications of an old encampment plus old traces of dog packs. Larger buildings are damaged by fire/earthquakes. To the south there's a large number of floating metal boxes [50'x10']. Perhaps could be used for dens or transport of goods back to people. Inyan suggests that perhaps we can create a sail to bring one of them back to the People after loading it with goods. This sounds like a wise suggestion, but as few of us have water experience I suggest that it be left to those knowledgable of the waterways.

As we travel to EEKA, there's a strong smell of yeast & something else. Following the smell we encounter a metal barrier with holes. A hole is found to enter & we proceed with caution to check a number of pools that might be clear & potable. One of the pools begins to bubble with the strange magic that Kohana talks about. But there is something living in the pools. Nine mushroom creatures emerge [6 Mushroom Hulks, 2 Redcaps, 1 Flatcap], perhaps oddly evolved humans. That is more impropable. These creatures have a nasty spore attack that slows & rots. The Flatcap stumbles off the edge as the Word confuses him, leading him to fall off the edge. A Color Spray from Kohana manages to daze a large number of them. The Redcaps have the ability to heal the other Mushroom creatures. And the Hulks can protect their fellows, which is unnerving. These creatures are not hard to hit but they have a great amount of healing. So many strange & odd beings in our travels. Pushing them over the edge of the large tanks is quite useful.
