The rest passes without interruption & we awaken fully rested. A check of the blast door shows it to be locked, remotely controlled & monitored. Some unknown agency controls it and we will need to bypass it. Kohana manages to barely open the blast door with assistance from the whole pack.The walls and doors are not as heavy as the others. There's more evidence that the building was sealed up for some unknown purpose [disease]. The walls collapse and open up the area, which both Kohana & Lucan fold up, which leads to empty rooms, leading us to open the rolling door.
At the end of the hallway is a bipedal creature completely in white, with a strange muzzle and a dark plane of glass covers the eyes. It flees upon seeing Lucan at the door. The ranger fires and misses. Our chance to make peace with this creature is intact for the moment. The creature presses a large red button & sounds an alarm, causing a metal skeletal dog to drop from the ceiling. I attempt to write "We cone in Peace" but the dog thing states that "Vandelism is not permitted". It shrieks from a small dish thing & leaves me partially deafened, Lucan flees from the area. Inyan comes to my assistance and lays into the creature with a mighty blow. Maya also comes to assist and harries the creature with his polearm.
Six smaller versions of the dog creatures tear thru the walls and attack Lucan at range, missing. His luck still holds for now. I use the WORD to heap scorn upon it, but the foul magic keeps it from happening. Inyan lays into the creature and moves forward to distract the smaller creatures. Maya slaughters one of the smaller creatures and pursues into the others. Lucan manages to kill the larger creature. Kohana manages to dispatch two with a icy blast. Two more dog creatures, different than the other two types also drop from the ceiling.
The charge to engage Inyan & Lucan using 5 digit claws that spin into whirling blades that spin in a loud whining fashion. They dig into Inyan gouging him, but missing Lucan. I use the WORD to push the creature from Lucan to Maya who manages to smack it. Two more of the dog creatures [4th type] drop from behind and attack. One hits with a spinning blade, causing a wound. It would seem they are more powerful than the ones we met on the mainland. I used the WORD to heal Inyan and myself as things are getting desperate. I use Eyebite on my attacker to become invisibile and move away, then use the WORD to boost Inyan. It is for naught as they use their claws to cut & wound. It becomes clear that perhaps we should withdraw if possible, though Maya and Inyan continue to damage our attackers. Maya's bodyguard effect continues to shield me at a grave cost to himself. Kohana continues to burn the one of the dog machines with a ball of fire.
I bolster Maya and continue to inspire my pack. Kohana manages to pin down one of the dog creatures while his fire consumes another. I direct one of the attentions to Maya, hoping to use the lure it's focus away. It finally succumbs to the damage, leaving just two of the creatures. We can now focus our efforts on the remaining creatures and perhaps win this battle. In short order, we have managed to destroy both of the creatures, emerging victorious though very bloodied.
As we recover, from the ceilings come a voice asking - "Who are you?"
