Alphabetical List
Abyssal: The language of the Dread One, Eslathagos Malkith, and his creations and servants. Still spoken by many aberrations and monstrous beings.
Charad: The language of the Charad Titans, who left the region millenia ago.
Common (Imperial): A variation of Old Prustan, sometimes called New Prustan, common in every land of the Empire.
Draconic: One of the oldest languages alongside Elder Elvish and Dwarvish. Spoken by dragons, some other creatures, and used for older arcane writings.
Dwarvish: Almost entirely unchanged since its invention, unlike every other language.
Elvish: A newer tongue based on old ones, a lyrical language that almost sounds like singing.
Elvish, Dark: A separate derivative from Elder Elvish, a whispering language full of subtle intonations.
Elvish, Elder: Except a few ancient elf sages, no one speaks this language anymore.
Gnomish: Another derivation from Elder Elvish, influenced by Dwarvish and borrowing words from human languages for ease of use.
Halfling: Descended from Elder Elvish and an ancient human language called Westron, it is a simple, unassuming tongue.
Litorian: A gruff language unrelated to any other known language.
Old Prustan: This old language only exists in ancient writings now. It may be true that no one remembers how to speak it.
Orcish: A mix of Westron and Abyssal created by the Dread One to speak to his lesser creations.
Palastani: A simple language of the country folk, returning to vogue.
Nallish: Crude and simple, sounding best when shouted across open plains.
Undercommon: Another derivative of Elder Elvish combined with bits of Abyssal and Draconic, originally spoken by dark elves, now spoken by the creatures they left behind.
Uraqi: A human tongue from the continent to the south, different in origin from Westron. Sometimes found in villages along the coast of the Southern Sea where Uraq once ruled.
Westron: Oldest human language, progenitor of Old Prustan.
