On the night of the performance by Otto, Côr arrived early to investigate the theater, and Otto arrived much earlier to get as much rehearsal as possible prior to the performance. Côr did a rather in-depth check to determine what was going on with Dullin, who turned out to be a Balacazar. Menon is the head of the order, but is aging, and his first son Malkeen is the Heir Apparent. Menon also had two daughters, Fesamere and Maystra. The primary enemies of the Balacazar clan are the Sisterhood of Silence and Kevris Killraven.

The final rehearsal arrived, and the playwright dropped the final fireball on the cast and announced that he was, essentially, going to remove the actual scripts, and give them each improvisation capabilities based on every rewrite to this point. Otto looked decidedly ….. intrigued by this notion. In a way.

During the second act, after the very best performance Otto has given of pulling-a-play-out-of-the-fire, the caterers came forward from the back doors. Under their plates of food they brought in crossbows and swords, and tried to assassinate Dullin with the bolts. Otto and Côr interceded, and initially the volley attacked a bystander in the crowd which Cheval went and helped.

During the fighting, I found “Red Alice” in the balcony through Mind Touchy power awesome. She was an aspiring actress but was dicked over by a noble back in her early career, and it turned to hate. Now she spends her time trying to kill all male nobles she can, throughout Ptolus. She is staring rather eagerly at Dullin, who is under my temporary, very temporary, care while the stage fight plays out. And as soon as it was clear the 4 caterers were removed as a threat, she and her cadre of assassins stood up and moved again against Dullin. Throughout a major volley of crossbows and attempted spells, I managed to remove a week of highly personal memories of Red Alice, when she was abused by that noble. As she stood there confused, I took Dullin down off the stage and behind the wall, then to secret him outside. After depositing him on the roof behind the pavilion, I flew back into the pavilion, and found Otto passed out from something. Moving him aside to a different part of the theater, sheltered from almost any sight of the assassins I saw that a poison was racing through his system. Pulling up all my resolve, I found the strength to get him healed of his poison and then of part of his wounds. That, unfortunately, would push me into unconsciousness and the rest of the shortened combat passed in merciful blackness.

Being jerked awake by Cheval's vile bottle that jerked me out of my stupor, I found the strength to slowly, steadily gather as much of the fallen gear as possible for future identification and sales.
