{We return to the party in the sewers, investigating the Hidden Chapel} {+2 damage result to be applied as wished bonus for updating the WIKI}
In the sewer, we arrived at a door to the South, and Côr unlocked/untriggered the door. The consensus was that Kekitat should go through and start the slaying. It led to a descending staircase into a large chamber with a banner on the Southern wall. Of the group, I was the only one to know that this banner was in the traditional Palastani style, and is the banner placed on the highest tower of a castle when the intention is to go to war. There were several other banners around the room that depicted more scenes of courtier/castle life. Examining the various aspects of the room, we then heard some commotion around the south corridor, and were set upon by a hoard/throng of ratlings. As we fought them in the dogleg, though, some of their compatriots opted to strike at us as well through an illusionary wall on the opposite side of the room. As we continued to fight and fight, Otto stepped through the area where the assassin waited and was slain and threw open a door.
Beyond, there was a room painted in colors that disconcerted the mind of all who saw it. Inside were two more human/oids that were itchin' for a fight. Actually there was a third who was in an alcove area which allowed him to use a wand of lightning and mind control magicks. I managed to set him alight, and maintained the fires to keep him nicely toasty for quite a long while, helping him to die in agony for using a psychic bolt on me. His name WAS Theral. His 'friend', Vocaetun, surrendered to me as the party entered into that room. The dark elf managed to head down the stairs.
I delivered a coup de grace to Theral via smashing his arm with my own mace, and delivering a disabling blow. This rolled over into death. We then interrogated Vocaetun, who said he intentionally infiltrated the Cult to learn their ways. (Otto and Cheval both realized he was lying.) He also admits that he just thought of the betrayal as we showed up, but has been thinking of leaving the Cult behind to start studying magick, but he was afraid the Cult would hunt him down and kill him because of this. This definitely seemed to be the truth. He seemed to be pained from a lifetime of discrimination because of his race (Harrow Elf). He then tells us of things to be wary of down below, after asking for mercy and quarter. A dwarven cleric is on watch at the base of the stairs (Woreron Racksmite) and Gavele Fevermind the Assassin (has horns). Zlith, the dark elf, is supposedly 'nothing', just a tough. She did run off with the key to the desk. He also warned us of a trapped area below.
{Reqqast got the MVP for keeping a 12th level wizard occupied for the entire fight by setting him on fire.}
