{Adam did the recap and got a conviction point, and anyone that updated the WIKI got 2d6 to modify any rolls as they see fit.}
Upon slaughtering all the creatures, and Otto releasing the rats from his thrall, I set out to pillage the toasted corpse of the former mage for everything that survived. While I was checking out the corpse, Côr played with a drawer on a desk up in the cubby area behind another set of screens. In it he found a locked box that was encrusted with jewels and precious metals. It was also locked. He spent his time (and dice) to get the lock opened. It contained 3 amethysts, and 2 vials of Unguent of Timelessness which are opaque black. Upon looking the charcoal briquet over, I found a slag pellet of gold and silver, metal breastplate +1 with a coiled snake (straps survived as well, which was surprising), mace +1 with head in the shape of a serpent, a wand of Inflict Moderate Wounds, potion of Protection from Arrows on his belt, and an amulet of a green spiral whose strap did burn away. The other person that was slain here had +1 studded leather armor, +1 shortsword, MW double pistol (Otto), 3 vials of some kind of poison, and ring with broken square circle.
Otto went to the 'southern' rooms, and in the smaller room he found a bag 'loaded' with money (372GP). In the larger room, there are a couple of trunks. In one of them were 10 tinder twigs, and a flask of venom antitoxin (given to Kekitat to cure Ibulli's venomous 'love'). On the bookshelf were a number of books, one of which was unmarked and looked to be a spell book (all typical spells up some 3rd level spells – Displacement and Fly, and Acidic Curse). Nothing else we recovered thus far is magical. We then opted to head down the stairs to pursue the annoying flee-r that headed down when it was clear we weren't going to be stopped.
Côr did a chaotic distraction by showing and using his balls all over the room. In the room, someone has started to uncover the old buried city. Dug out the top of what appears to be a tower (castle that had been buried), with a wall at the north end of the tower. At the foot of the staircase was a male halforc corpse in a tunic with a deathshead. The caster on the top of the parapet (Woreron) is a dwarf (bald, jet black beard and eyebrows) wearing full plate armor with a shield and battleaxe next to him. I pulled off a piece of the fire elemental he summoned, and threw it back at him. Various other members did …. relatively ineffective things, and then when I motivated once more, I was inspired to essentially hem in the creature using Fire Shaping, and succeeded well enough to hem the fire elemental into its current space and rendered it essentially neutered. Now I will be able to maintain the ward (concentration check renders the concentration into a move rather than standard action). Côr, doing his best Batman impersonation, used a chain lasso to start climbing the tower. The cleric atop struck the chain with his battleaxe and much spark, and substantially weakened the chain to where it's a danger against being climbed, and Côr is already near the top of the tower. Côr managed to make it up, and started to fight the caster hand-to-hand. Though of course he soon ran away across the crenelations, and Woreron quaffed a flight potion and came after me in the air. What a joyous dance we shall weave.
Meanwhile, not far away, Kekitat, Otto and Cheval were trying to deal with Ibulli (the man-spider nasty thing) and Spyksis the little munchkin manspider thing. With a single blow, yet again, Kekitat managed to slaughter Spyksis, leaving only Ibulli to fight who seems substantially harder to cope with. Back with our hero, I was too annoyed to be able to concentrate as effectively and had to float across the space to ensure I didn't get a 'free' attack from Woreron. Côr is attempting to assist a little bit, though it's not as effective quite yet. With more pounding, we were able to knock him down to Disabled, and then Côr fired what seemed to be a pussy-bolt, but it actually managed to kill him. Quite impressive.
Kekitat managed to slay the manspider things bringing us to a resting point. Searching Woreron we found full plate dwarven armor, heavy wooden shield, a battleaxe of some quality, a pearl, a scroll, an amulet of black skull made of silver and mithril painted black, and a key hidden in his boot. On the spider and quasit, two different rings on the spider's hands, one is a bone ring of the Quan and the other gold with unknown ability. In the webs nearby, a note was found, interrupted by us, which Otto found. On the quasit, small sack with 4 small gems and a turnip and an ornate bone dagger. Otto also wanted to search the base of the tower to gather all the special items so we can do everything at once. I assisted the searching somewhat. In the chest of drawers, a rolled up tapestry 4' wide, unrolled about 10' long portraying a woodland scene with hunters hunting a boar ('a couple' hundred GP), with a silver ring with a milky white gem for a small hand 50GP, and a large gold ring with a ruby set in it 50GP, also some ornately crafted and braided silken thread cord 1-2GP, and a large red gem (4-11) estimated 20GP. The statue is of a being sitting on a throne, and on the base of the statue bears the following (in common): “On the Night of Dissolution, We Break Free” The figure is holding a staff in one hand and a bell in the other. It seems to be poorly made.
Checking the dead half orc, I realized he seemed to be dead about a day. All his crap seemed to have been stripped of his corpse already, and we only noticed that he had a black hand tattooed on his chest. We then rested for 8 hours in the tower to replenish ourselves and heal as much as possible.
