Burning a Sevrean Character

The character must adopt one Cultural Trait from the character's homeland. This is a free Character Trait. This Trait is gained at birth and from the character's early environment, so it comes before any lifepath Traits except for Born lifepaths. If another lifepath duplicates the Trait, just as for any other, the next Trait on the list becomes required.

Humans

Create a human character as in the Character Burner with the following notes:

  • Humans have no species-specific emotional attribute. Those following the paths of sorcery must be Gifted and may develop the Sorcery attribute; those following the paths of Animism and the spirits will develop the Spirit Binding attribute.

Ansad

  • Cultural Traits: Agreeable, Generous, Ruddy Complexion

Djeroon

  • Upper-Class Cultural Traits: Condescending, Lavish Taste, Sense of Entitlement
  • Lower-Class Cultural Traits: Downtrodden, Gossip, Veneer of Obedience

Eighentin

  • Cultural Traits: Collector, Mind for Small Details, Tolerant

Gazon

  • Cultural Traits: Aloof, Off-Kilter, Skeptical

Jahkef

  • Cultural Traits: Esoteric, Restless, Shrewd

Steen

  • Cultural Traits: Claustrophobic, Earthy Smell, Love of the Horse

Other Areas

Tallarane

  • Cultural Traits: Grim, Scarred, Superstitious

Other

As appropriate. There are too many small principalities and half-forgotten farming hamlets to cover. Just wing it.

Elves

Create an elven character as in the Character Burner with the following notes:

Anfhelar

  • Citadel/Etharch Traits: Arcane, Deliberate, Remote
  • Other Setting Traits: Calm, Ideologue, Learned

Rukhelar

  • Citadel/Etharch Traits: Arcane, Inscrutable, Strong-Willed
  • Other Setting Traits: Calm, Evasive, Worldly

Dwarves

Create a dwarven character as in the Character Burner.

  • Artificer/Noble/Host Traits: Collector, Mind for Small Details, Self-Satisfied
  • Other Setting Traits: Bottomless Stomach, Collector, Disciplined

Centaurs

Create a centaur character as a human character in the Character Burner with the following notes:

  • Centaurs are creatures of the seasons. They have a related emotional attribute called Discord.
  • Every centaur is born into one and only one season -- spring, summer, autumn, or winter. This has no relation on the date of birth nor on their parents nor on any external influence, merely their innate nature.
  • Use the Lifepaths, Age, and Resources for humans.
  • Settings are restricted to Peasant, Villager, Noble, Professional Soldier, Servitude, Outcast. Even a centaur in a human city doesn't quite "get it" and must choose from the Villager lifepaths during their city life.

Hallanen

  • As the Summer Herd is maintaining the cycles at present, characters burned into the Summer Herd may reduce their starting Discord by 1.
  • Cultural Traits: Claustrophobic, Following the Herd, Rhetorical

Chavonen

  • As the Winter Court is maintaining the cycles at the moment, characters burned into the Winter Court may reduce their starting Discord by 1.
  • Cultural Traits: Insightful, Mercenary, Schemer

Others

Shar'than

Shee'agar

Ghahi

Create a character as for a human character in the Character Burner. Except for outcasts, increase Circles by 1 and decrease Resources by 1 from standard human values.

  • Cultural Traits: Evasive, Maggot Connoisseur, Stinky

Some settings are extremely unlikely for a Ghahi, though a few brave outcasts have made their way in human society. For these poor souls, all human Settings (except Noble) are open to them but all Ghahi Circles and contacts will be cut off. They will have a hard time making it in either society.

For all other Ghahi, only the following Lifepaths are available:

  • Peasant: all except Miller
  • Villager: Village Born, Kid, Idiot, Conscript, Runner, Village Peddler, Laborer, Taskmaster, Village Guard, Butcher, Barber, Village Shaman (Priest), Apprentice, Journeyman, Cloth Dyer, Merchant, Village Wife
  • Servitude: all
  • Outcast: all
